When people face a health emergency or an accident, they can access free government ambulance services with a phone call. But injured stray animals often have no such support. To address this gap, the NGO Arudra for Animals and Environment Foundation was launched in May 2026 with the tagline “We must be the voice of voiceless animals.” Based in Nizampet, the organisation focuses on animal welfare and environmental protection, recognising the close link between the well-being of animals and their surroundings.
The foundation is operating ambulances at several locations across the city to rescue injured, sick and helpless stray animals and shift them to care centres. People can call or share the location through WhatsApp on 91549 82901 if they find an injured or sick stray animal, with the organisation stating that an ambulance and medical staff will reach the location within about 30 minutes. Along with animal rescue, the foundation conducts awareness programmes on animal protection laws and encourages citizens to show compassion towards animals, report cruelty and volunteer or support its activities.
