India’s winning run on the New Zealand tour came to an end in Auckland as the hosts registered a commanding 87-run victory in the fourth T20I on Friday, October 30. Glenn Phillips led the charge with a brilliant century, scoring 107 runs, while Bevon Jacobs contributed a valuable half-century with 65. New Zealand followed up their strong batting display with an impressive bowling performance. Jacob Duffy claimed four wickets, while Mitchell Santner and Matthew Fisher picked up two wickets each to put India under pressure.

Chasing a target of 260, India’s batters failed to deliver a strong performance. Tilak Varma top-scored with 35, followed by Naman (28), Abhishek Sharma (27), Shreyas Iyer (22) and Nitish (21). Sanju Samson (4), Ishan Kishan (0) and Axar Patel (7) failed to make an impact. Prince Yadav remained unbeaten on 18 after taking on the New Zealand bowlers in the final over, but his effort was not enough to change the result. India suffered an 87-run defeat, while New Zealand registered their first win of the five-match T20I series. India lead the series 3–1.
