Bombay High Court Slams Illegal Orders Issued in Chief Justice’s Name

The Bombay High Court has delivered an important ruling on the appointment process for members of the Shri Saptashrungi Nivasini Devi Trust in Nashik. The court set aside the earlier orders that had halted the appointment process, clearing the way for the matter to proceed in accordance with the applicable procedure.

The court expressed serious concern over orders allegedly issued by a special officer in the name of the Chief Justice without obtaining his approval. Describing the incident as a grave misuse of authority, the bench observed that the conduct had shocked the conscience of the court. It subsequently cancelled the earlier stay imposed on the appointments.
