Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu has urged the Centre to include the state in the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) 2.0. He said the move would create better opportunities for Telangana to emerge as a leading hub for semiconductor fabrication and chip design. Speaking at the curtain-raiser event for the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026 in Delhi on Thursday, the minister said the state’s defence exports had increased by 103 per cent compared with previous levels. He also highlighted the government’s plan to expand Telangana’s data centre capacity to five gigawatts by 2030.
Sridhar Babu said the state launched its Telangana Rising vision last year with the goal of increasing Telangana’s contribution to India’s GDP to 10 per cent by 2047. He attributed the state’s industrial growth prospects to world-class infrastructure, a skilled talent pool and policies aimed at improving the ease of doing business. The Delhi curtain-raiser was organised to showcase investment opportunities and encourage industrialists to participate in Telangana’s growth vision. The minister invited industry leaders to attend the upcoming Global Summit 2.0, a flagship initiative of the state government.
