The BJP’s Jana Sankalpa Yatra, aimed at securing justice for residents affected by the Jawahar Nagar dump yard, continued for its third day. Malkajgiri MP Etela Rajender and BJP Legislature Party leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy conducted a foot march through Keesara, Cheeriyal, Bandlaguda and Nagaram. Residents explained the difficulties they face because of the dump yard and urged the leaders to find a permanent solution. Etela Rajender called on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) estimating the cost of removing the dump yard. He said BJP MPs would take responsibility for securing the required funds from the Centre.
Etela Rajender expressed concern over reported health problems among residents, particularly skin infections affecting children in areas surrounding the dump yard. He alleged that the government had failed to address the concerns of affected families and criticised the Chief Minister over promises made to the people of Malkajgiri. He also challenged Congress leaders to visit the affected areas and understand residents’ difficulties firsthand. BJP leaders said their campaign would continue until a solution was found and urged residents to attend the public meeting scheduled for the following day. The demand for the dump yard’s removal and a permanent solution remains the central focus of the campaign.
