BRS working president and former minister KTR criticised Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over the state’s drought situation. He said Andhra Pradesh had avoided drought despite receiving less rainfall than Telangana, crediting Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s foresight and efforts to lift and utilise water resources. KTR praised Chandrababu for taking measures that, according to him, helped prevent drought and crop holidays in Andhra Pradesh. He also claimed that Telangana’s rainfall deficit was only around 17–20 per cent and blamed the state’s drought situation on the Revanth Reddy government.
KTR accused Revanth Reddy of making misleading statements about drought conditions and questioned the need to undertake the Musi River beautification project when the state was facing water-related difficulties. He alleged that the government was preparing to misuse public funds worth ₹1.5 lakh crore in the name of the project. He also questioned whether Rahul Gandhi was aware of developments in Congress-ruled states. Separately, KTR said he had not yet examined former minister Konda Surekha’s remarks and would consult his legal team after reviewing them. He expressed confidence that the allegations against him would not stand and added that several people still had to apologise.
