Microsoft has introduced Copilot Health, a new artificial intelligence-powered feature designed to provide personalised health insights. This tool functions as a dedicated and secure space within Copilot where users can upload their health information from different sources. After analysing the data, the AI chatbot can answer questions about health conditions and overall well-being. However, Microsoft has clearly stated that the tool is meant to assist users with information and should not be considered a replacement for doctors or medical professionals.
The company explained that Copilot Health aims to address the challenge of having too much medical information but very little personalised guidance. Users can upload health records, data from wearable devices, and laboratory test results, allowing the AI system to analyse and connect the information. Once processed, the tool can provide explanations about common health problems, highlight possible concerns, and suggest ways to improve overall health. The responses also include references and source links, along with expert-written information from Harvard Health.
Microsoft also noted that the platform helps users find doctors or hospitals that accept their insurance. At launch, the feature supports data from more than 50 wearable devices and health platforms such as Apple Health, Oura, and Fitbit, and can access health records from over 50,000 hospitals and providers in the United States with user permission. The company stated that health data will be stored separately with stronger privacy protections, and users will have full control to manage or delete their information. Copilot Health is currently available in English in the United States for users aged 18 and above, with plans to expand to more languages and regions in the future.
