

Microsoft is preparing to take on AI leaders such as OpenAI and Anthropic with a next-generation AI Super App, CEO Satya Nadella announced during the company's quarterly earnings presentation. Nadella said Copilot is rapidly evolving beyond a conventional chatbot into a comprehensive AI platform capable of handling a much wider range of tasks. He described the transformation as a major milestone and said more details about the Super App will be revealed in the future. According to the company, the platform aims to deliver a more integrated and productive AI experience than traditional AI applications.
Highlighting Microsoft's strong financial performance, Nadella said the company's annual revenue has exceeded $331 billion, while its cloud business generated $214 billion in revenue. Net income for the quarter ended June 30 rose to $35.8 billion. Meanwhile, South Korean technology giant Samsung reported a record $62 billion in operating profit, the highest in the company's history. Following the announcement, South Korea's KOSPI benchmark index gained more than 4%, reflecting positive investor sentiment.
