India’s explosive opener Abhishek Sharma has reclaimed the world No. 1 position in the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings following his sensational performance against New Zealand. In the third T20I in Wellington, Abhishek smashed 113 runs off just 38 balls, reaching his century in 35 deliveries and helping India secure a six-wicket victory. His innings propelled him past teammate Ishan Kishan to return to the top of the rankings. Abhishek had first reached the No. 1 position in July 2025, and his latest achievement marks another milestone in his T20I career.
South Africa’s Marco Jansen has also made a major breakthrough in the latest ICC rankings, becoming the No. 1 Test bowler and Test all-rounder. His performance against Australia in the second Test included 85 runs and a crucial five-wicket haul, helping South Africa level the series. Jansen overtook Australia’s Mitchell Starc in the Test bowling rankings and India’s Ravindra Jadeja in the all-rounder standings, ending Jadeja’s more-than-four-year reign at the top. Meanwhile, India captain Shubman Gill retained the No. 1 position in ODI batting rankings, with Virat Kohli third and Rohit Sharma fourth. South Africa captain Temba Bavuma climbed to second among Test batters.
