India are reportedly considering changes to their playing XI for the fourth T20I against New Zealand in Auckland after taking an unassailable 3–0 lead in the five-match series. With a series clean sweep in sight, the team management could use the remaining games to assess different combinations. Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan, who missed the previous two matches due to a groin injury, is reportedly fit and in contention for a comeback. If he returns, 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi could make way despite his impressive 45 off 19 balls in the third T20I. Alternatively, the management could rest senior wicketkeeper Sanju Samson and retain the young batter.
India’s middle order features captain Shreyas Iyer, Tilak Varma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Naman Dhir and Axar Patel. The team could continue without a specialist wrist-spinner, leaving Axar to handle the spin duties, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Prince Yadav and Arshdeep Singh lead the pace attack. The possible playing XI listed in the report includes Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi or Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, Tilak Varma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Naman Dhir, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Prince Yadav and Arshdeep Singh. The final XI will depend on the team management’s decision and official confirmation.
