India’s compact SUV market continues to attract buyers looking for stylish vehicles, competitive prices and fuel efficiency. Against this backdrop, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx has reportedly recorded strong sales, outperforming the Brezza during the first half of the financial year. According to the figures cited in the report, Maruti Suzuki sold more than 1.90 lakh compact SUVs during the period, of which the Fronx accounted for over 1.10 lakh units. Its sales reportedly grew by around 43% compared with the corresponding period last year, while the Brezza recorded approximately 80,000 units. The Fronx has also reportedly come close to the sales performance of the company’s popular MPV, the Ertiga.
The Fronx’s appeal is attributed to its range of powertrain options and pricing. It is available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine, a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a CNG variant. The company claims a fuel efficiency figure of around 28.51 km per kg for the CNG version. Manual and automatic transmission options cater to different driving preferences. The report lists an approximate ex-showroom price range of ₹6.90 lakh to ₹12.03 lakh, although prices and specifications may vary by variant and location. Safety equipment includes six airbags, an anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) and electronic stability control (ESC), according to the report. Buyers should confirm current prices, variant-specific features and mileage details with an authorised Maruti Suzuki dealer before making a purchase.
