Centre Seeks Meta Explanation

The Central Government has sought an explanation from Meta over the removal of a Facebook video featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Senior representatives of the company have been asked to appear before government officials within the next ten days to explain the circumstances surrounding the incident. The development was confirmed by MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan.

The government is seeking clarity on how content related to high-profile accounts is being removed, the technical reasons behind such incidents, and the safeguards Meta plans to implement to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Meta has stated that the removal of the Prime Minister's video was due to a technical error and that the content was restored soon after the issue was identified.
