The PAN card, which is crucial for financial transactions, can now be obtained very easily. With the expansion of digital services by the Income Tax Department, the facility of applying online from home is available. There are two ways to apply for PAN, online and offline. Of these, the online method is considered faster. Filling Form 49A on the official website and choosing Aadhaar-based e-KYC will also reduce the need for uploading documents. If the application is submitted after paying the fee, the e-PAN will be sent to the email in a few days.
In the offline method, the form has to be submitted at the PAN service center and photos, identity proof, and address proof should be attached. However, this process takes some time. It is very important to provide the name, date of birth, and Aadhaar details correctly in the application. The mobile number should be linked to Aadhaar. It should be remembered that only one PAN is allowed per person. Experts suggest applying without delay as PAN is mandatory for income tax returns, bank account opening, and large transactions.
