Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has stirred strong reactions with his blunt remarks amid the ongoing controversy over Pakistan’s boycott-related issues in international cricket. Known for his outspoken nature, Sehwag openly criticized what he described as Pakistan’s repeated appeals to India and the global cricketing community. He remarked that there is a “limit to begging,” expressing frustration over constant demands for bilateral series, cooperation and financial considerations and suggesting that such requests reflect desperation rather than self-respect.
Using sharp sarcasm, Sehwag further commented that instead of repeatedly asking for series and revenue sharing, Pakistan should simply ask for a “profession.” He stated that if every Indian contributed just one rupee as alms, it would total around ₹130 crore, underlining his point about the scale of these demands. He also took a dig at calls for a 50 percent revenue share, friendly gestures and tri-series participation, asserting that there must be a boundary to what can reasonably be expected. Sehwag’s remarks have reignited debate around India–Pakistan cricket relations, drawing both praise for his candour and criticism for intensifying an already sensitive issue.
