Indian Grandmaster R. Praggnanandhaa created history by becoming the first Indian player to win the Grand Chess Tour. In the Grand Chess Tour Finals held in St. Louis on Thursday, the Chennai-born chess star produced a remarkable comeback against Fabiano Caruana to secure a memorable victory.
The triumph earned Praggnanandhaa his maiden Grand Chess Tour title along with prize money of nearly ₹2 crore. His achievement marks a significant milestone in Indian chess and adds another major accomplishment to the young Grandmaster’s growing list of international successes.
