The Drishyam franchise is heading towards three different futures across Malayalam, Hindi and Telugu cinema. The original Malayalam series, led by Mohanlal and directed by Jeethu Joseph, is moving forward, with the makers having already officially announced Drishyam 4. The announcement has increased curiosity among fans about how Georgekutty’s story will unfold and what new twists could emerge in the next chapter.
The situation is different in the Hindi and Telugu versions. Ajay Devgn’s Hindi adaptation is reportedly being planned to conclude with Drishyam 3, which could make the third installment the final chapter of that version. In Telugu, Venkatesh starred in Drishyam and Drishyam 2, both of which received a positive response. However, reports suggest that Venkatesh is not keen on taking the franchise forward, making Drishyam 2 likely to remain the final Telugu installment. The direct OTT release of Drishyam 2 was also a notable development for the Telugu franchise. As a result, the same story universe now appears to have three distinctly different trajectories in three major Indian languages.
