Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic has dismissed speculation about his retirement following his semi-final exit at Wimbledon 2026. Djokovic's campaign came to an end after a straight-sets defeat to defending champion Jannik Sinner, who advanced comfortably to the final. Despite the disappointing result, Djokovic made it clear that he has no plans to retire and confirmed that he intends to return to Wimbledon next year. He said reaching the semi-finals and competing at the highest level once again proved that he still belongs among the world's elite players.
Reflecting on his performance, Djokovic admitted that losing to the world No. 1 was difficult but accepted the result with maturity. He noted that while a semi-final finish would be a remarkable achievement for most players, his own standards remain much higher after more than two decades of success. The 24-time Grand Slam champion, who has not won a major title since the 2023 US Open, will now turn his attention to the American hard-court season as he continues his pursuit of another Grand Slam crown and a historic record.
