Nara Lokesh Launches Suzlon’s 1,325 MW Wind Projects in AP

Minister for Education and IT Nara Lokesh laid the foundation stone for Suzlon’s 1,325 MW wind energy projects at Huliker village in Kanekallu mandal of Rayadurgam constituency in Anantapur district on Tuesday. The projects are being established across the Rayadurgam, Uravakonda and Kalyandurg constituencies with the participation of the Andhra Pradesh government.

As part of the programme, Lokesh also inaugurated Suzlon’s S144 new blade production lines and unveiled the foundation plaques. He reviewed an audio-visual presentation on the projects and interacted with company representatives to understand the progress and investment plans.

The wind energy projects are expected to attract an investment of around Rs.10,000 crore. According to the project details, the investment is expected to generate direct and indirect employment and livelihood opportunities for around 4,000 people in the region.

Before attending the foundation-laying ceremony, Lokesh visited Suzlon’s blade stockyard at Halakundi village near Ballari. He discussed the company’s operations with representatives and also signed a wind turbine as part of the visit.

Suzlon has reportedly emerged as one of Andhra Pradesh’s major wind energy partners, with more than 1,700 MW of installed capacity in the state. The company is also planning to strategically expand its renewable energy footprint, with a target of establishing an additional 5,000 MW of renewable energy projects by 2030.

Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav, Anantapur MP Ambika G. Lakshminarayana, Rayadurg MLA Kalava Srinivasulu, Kalyandurg MLA Amilineni Surendra Babu, Anantapur Urban MLA Daggupati Venkata Prasad and Suzlon Group Co-Founder and Vice Chairman Girish Tanti attended the programme.
