ND vs SL: Rishabh Pant Surpasses MS Dhoni, Creates Historic Test Record Overseas

India strengthened its position against Sri Lanka in the second Test after posting a score of more than 400 runs in the first innings. Devdutt Padikkal led the batting effort with a century, while Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel contributed valuable half-centuries. Pant’s innings was particularly significant as he added another milestone to his impressive Test career.

Pant scored 63 runs and became the first Indian wicketkeeper to cross the 2,500-run mark in Test cricket on foreign soil. With this achievement, he moved past former India captain and legendary wicketkeeper MS Dhoni, who had accumulated 2,496 overseas Test runs.
