The FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Draw is set to take place on Friday in Washington, DC, the capital of co-hosts USA. As per Indian time, the draw will begin at 10:30 PM IST, officially determining all 12 groups of four teams each for the upcoming 48-team World Cup. The tournament, jointly hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico, will kick off on June 11, 2026. Once the groups are finalized, FIFA will announce the complete match schedule including venues and kick-off timings on December 6, also in Washington.
Football fans can expect a star-studded event, with former England captain Rio Ferdinand leading the draw ceremony. The event will also feature major global sports personalities such as NFL legend Tom Brady, NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal, ice-hockey great Wayne Gretzky, MLB star Aaron Judge, and Super Bowl champion Eli Manning, who will host a special red-carpet segment. Their presence adds more excitement to one of the most anticipated events in world football.
The 48 participating teams will be split into Pot 1 to Pot 4 based on ranking, host status, and playoff results. Other football giants like Brazil, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany also join them in the top category. Lower pots include teams such as debutants Uzbekistan, while playoff qualifiers like Italy, if they advance, could find themselves in Pot 4.
