

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has congratulated football legend Lionel Messi on his decision to bid farewell to international football. Recalling his interaction with Messi during the Argentine star’s visit to Hyderabad, the Chief Minister said spending a few moments with him on a football field was a great privilege. Revanth Reddy described Messi as a GOAT who inspired and thrilled football fans across the world and said his extraordinary journey would remain a source of inspiration for generations. He highlighted Messi’s international career, which began with Argentina in 2005, and praised his exceptional talent, relentless hard work, determination and numerous achievements. He also noted that Messi had established himself as one of the greatest footballers in history through several prestigious awards and remarkable records.
Revanth Reddy also praised Messi for his contribution beyond football. He said Messi had been associated with UNICEF in various social initiatives and had worked through the Leo Messi Foundation to support children’s health and education. Referring to Messi’s visit to India and Hyderabad, the Chief Minister said his interaction with sports enthusiasts in Telangana would remain memorable and provide additional encouragement to the state’s efforts to promote sports and nurture young talent. Revanth said qualities such as sportsmanship, perseverance, concentration, humility and dedication were reflected throughout Messi’s career. He expressed hope that Messi would continue his social initiatives with greater enthusiasm and contribute to society in the years ahead.
