The Telangana Assembly session began on Wednesday. During the proceedings, BJP MLA P. Rakesh Reddy raised the issue of development in Nizamabad district. He said he would resign if he was not allowed to speak about the district’s development in the House. Reddy alleged that Nizamabad was not receiving adequate attention and claimed that more funds were being allocated to districts represented by ministers. He also questioned why his long-standing demand for a revenue office in Armur had not been addressed.
Meanwhile, BJP Legislature Party Deputy Floor Leader Payal Shanker urged the government to fulfil its election promises to persons with disabilities. He demanded that their pension be increased to ₹6,016 and that government posts reserved for persons with disabilities be filled immediately. He also sought free travel for persons with disabilities on RTC buses and Metro trains. Shanker further demanded that orthopaedic facilities in the Rangareddy area be brought under Hyderabad’s jurisdiction and that specially trained teachers be appointed to provide training for students with special needs.
