Delhi Police have granted permission for a massive INDIA bloc rally scheduled to be held at Ramlila Maidan on November 1, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. However, the police have imposed several conditions on the event. The organisers have been instructed to conclude the programme between 10 am and 5 pm and ensure that nobody stays at the venue overnight. They have also been asked to make mandatory arrangements for CCTV cameras, drinking water and public toilets. Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar visited Ramlila Maidan on Saturday to review the security arrangements.
Meanwhile, officials have advised commuters travelling through the Ramlila Maidan area on Sunday to take alternative routes. More than 4,000 police personnel, along with central security forces, are being deployed to prevent any untoward incidents during the rally. In Telangana, MPs Mallu Ravi and Balaram Naik, along with Vem Narender Reddy and Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, reviewed arrangements for the transportation of party workers, bus parking and other facilities for those attending the rally from the state.
