Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) chief YS Sharmila has issued an important statement on the venue of her daughter Anjili Reddy’s wedding through a post on X. Sharmila clarified that the Yelahanka property, which was previously part of the family’s shared assets, was allotted entirely to her and her children during the property division after YS Jagan Mohan Reddy became Chief Minister. She stated that this was the truth and that the property rightfully belonged to her children. Since it was also a house frequently visited by her father, former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the family had initially planned to conduct Anjili’s wedding there, as per her daughter’s wish.
However, Sharmila expressed sadness that they could not fulfil her daughter’s wish to get married in the house where she grew up. She thanked everyone who had expressed concern for Anjili amid the developments surrounding the wedding venue. Sharmila said the marriage between YS Anjili Reddy and Somala Raghuram Reddy was an alliance arranged by elders and that the family had a responsibility to conduct it without disputes or controversy. Therefore, they have decided to hold the wedding at a different venue, in the presence of relatives, friends and well-wishers. She also sought the blessings of the Telugu people for the couple’s future.
