The Telangana government has announced a Diwali bonus for Singareni Collieries Company workers, bringing festive cheer to thousands of employees. Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Bhatti Vikramarka announced that the Performance Linked Reward Bonus will be paid on November 5. He directed the Singareni management to make the necessary arrangements to credit the amount to workers’ bank accounts. A total of Rs 419 crore has been earmarked for the payment, with eligible workers set to receive up to Rs 1,10,250 each. Around 38,000 employees are expected to benefit from the announcement.
The bonus applies only to employees covered under the National Coal Wage Agreement (NCWA) and does not apply to officers. Workers who completed 190 working days in underground mines or 240 working days in open-cast and surface operations during the previous financial year will qualify for the full bonus. Those with fewer working days will receive a proportionate amount, subject to a minimum eligibility requirement of 30 working days. Singareni CMD Dr Buddaprakash Jyoti has instructed the concerned personnel and finance officials to ensure timely payment. The company has also urged employees to use the bonus for family needs and savings, while continuing to work towards production targets.
