The Telangana government has announced a 2.543% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for employees, artisans and pensioners working in state-owned power utilities ahead of the Diwali festival. With this revision, the DA rate will increase from the existing 19.272% to 21.815%. The revised allowance will be effective from July 1.
The decision will benefit a total of 71,360 employees, artisans and pensioners across the Telangana State Transmission Corporation (Transco), Generation Corporation (Genco), Southern Power Distribution Company (SPDCL) and Northern Power Distribution Company (NPDCL). The increase is expected to cost the government Rs. 14.63 crore. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the instructions were issued to protect the interests and welfare of employees working in the state's power utilities.
