Election General Observer and State Labour Department Secretary Miriyala Venkata Seshagiri Babu has directed officials to conduct the local body elections in Eluru district in a fair, impartial and peaceful manner. On Friday, he reviewed polling arrangements for the Eluru Municipal Corporation and the Nuzvid and Jangareddigudem municipalities at the Gautami Meeting Hall in the Collectorate. District Collector K. Vetriselvi and Joint Collector Dr. M. J. Abhishek Gowda also participated in the review.
Seshagiri Babu instructed election staff to discharge their duties responsibly, without bias or negligence, and ensure that voters can exercise their franchise freely. He called for strict surveillance to prevent campaigning and public meetings during the 48 hours before polling. Collector Vetriselvi said arrangements had been completed in the three urban local bodies. Measures were being taken to prevent outsiders from staying in polling areas, and polling staff and materials would be transported by vehicles by Saturday. She added that tight security had been arranged at sensitive and highly sensitive polling stations and staff had received full training. Officials from various departments, including police and election authorities, attended the meeting.
