T. Harish Rao, former minister and BRS Legislature Party deputy leader, has strongly criticized the Congress government, calling its farmer declaration a “complete fraud.” In an open letter to A. Revanth Reddy, he alleged that promises made during elections are being ignored after coming to power. He questioned the delay in paddy procurement despite huge arrivals at purchase centers and accused millers of exploiting farmers by deducting extra weight per bag.
Harish Rao also raised concerns over the delay in bonus payments for fine paddy and neglect of sunflower, bengal gram, jowar, and maize farmers. He demanded that the government procure all crops at Minimum Support Price immediately and relax procurement limits for maize. Warning of protests, he said the BRS party would intensify its fight if farmers’ issues are not addressed promptly.
