Iran has announced that discussions are underway with Qatari mediators on a proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within two days, provided the United States implements Iran's conditions. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made the statement, according to Al Jazeera. The discussions are focused on reducing the proposed timeline for reopening the strategically important waterway.
Araghchi said talks with Qatar were making progress on shortening the proposed implementation period from five days to two days. The proposal is conditional on the United States agreeing to and implementing Iran's demands. The Strait of Hormuz is a strategically significant maritime route, making its reopening an important issue in the ongoing discussions.
