Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh attended the mega Parent–Teacher Meeting held in Parvathipuram Manyam district. Speaking at the event, Lokesh recalled with a smile that PTMs used to scare him during his childhood. He mentioned that he was part of a mischievous batch, and his class teacher often complained to his mother.
In my school days, it was impossible for a Chief Minister to attend my PTM. But today, the Chief Minister himself has come to your meeting, he said. Lokesh added that no matter how busy he is, he always makes time to attend his son Devansh’s PTM.
Referring to value-based education, Lokesh said that the government arranged spiritual talks by Chaganti Koteshwara Rao to instill moral discipline among children.
Chaganti garu strongly advised that one should never do anything they cannot share with their mother. That message is essential for every child, he added.
Lokesh stated that a special Children’s Constitution was created to help kids understand their rights and responsibilities in a simple way. He also highlighted the mock assembly organized with students, noting that their discussions were sometimes more insightful than those of elected representatives.
He stressed the need to eliminate words and expressions that demean women, stating that such language has no place in society. He also mentioned reforms in textbooks, where earlier images showed only women doing household chores. The new curriculum now depicts both men and women participating equally in domestic responsibilities.
Lokesh announced that teachers and students would be sent to countries like Finland and England to study global education systems. He assured that Andhra Pradesh would implement a modern education model within two years, as directed by the Chief Minister.
He added that the Deputy Chief Minister continually advises him on improvements related to education, reforms, and nutritious meals for children.
Lokesh urged parents not to underestimate government schools, stating that they hold immense potential and should be chosen confidently for children’s education.
