Yash’s Toxic Draws Criticism From Annamalai

Yash-starrer Toxic has reportedly made a strong start at the box office, collecting around ₹104 crore on its opening day. However, the film has come under criticism from Tamil Nadu leader and ‘We The Leaders’ founder Annamalai over its alleged portrayal of women. He claimed that the movie contains misogynistic elements and objectifies women, expressing concern over the possible impact of such portrayals on society.

Annamalai also questioned how the film received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). He called for stricter regulations and urged the censor board to adopt a more stringent approach while deciding which scenes should be allowed in films, irrespective of the popularity of the actors involved. He further expressed concern about children watching movies that allegedly demean women, warning that repeated exposure to such content could influence social attitudes and undermine efforts aimed at addressing issues faced by women.
