Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is personally monitoring the Cyclone Montha situation from the RTGS Center, holding continuous review meetings to oversee relief operations. Ministers Nara Lokesh and Anitha, along with senior RTGS officials, participated in the latest review session. Naidu instructed teams to maintain nonstop relief efforts, ensure food and water supplies for stranded travelers, and deploy Kisan drones to deliver essential medicines in flood-hit areas. Every vehicle and rescue machine involved in the operation is being live-tracked from the RTGS control center, as officials work around the clock to minimize the cyclone’s impact.
According to reports, Nellore district has recorded the highest rainfall so far, followed by Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, and Anakapalli, which have also experienced heavy showers. The cyclone is currently located around 150 kilometers off the Kakinada coast and is likely to make landfall around 11:30 PM tonight. With heavy rains expected between 9 PM and early morning, the state government has imposed travel restrictions in coastal regions. Around 3,000 generators have been arranged at village and ward secretariats to ensure uninterrupted power and communication services during the storm.
