Telangana Youth Congress leaders, led by state president Jakkidi Shiva Charan Reddy, attempted to lay siege to the BJP state office. The protesters condemned what they described as the BJP’s treatment of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and raised objections over the reported use of pellet guns against students. They demanded that Union Home Minister Amit Shah take moral responsibility for the incident and resign immediately. Slogans were raised against the BJP and the Central government during the protest.
As part of the demonstration, Youth Congress leaders painted parts of the area outside the BJP state office black and burned an effigy of Amit Shah along with a BJP flag. Police intervened and stopped the protest, following which Jakkidi Shiva Charan Reddy and several other Youth Congress leaders and workers were arrested and shifted to a police station.
