Signature Bridge Between Vijayawada and Amaravati

A proposal has been prepared to construct a signature bridge across the Krishna River between Vijayawada and Amaravati to improve connectivity between the two cities. The project is estimated to cost around ₹1,000 crore. The bridge is proposed to be built in the area between Prakasam Barrage and the railway bridge.

The proposed bridge will be approximately 1.10 km long and feature a six-lane roadway. Plans also include footpaths on both sides and dedicated cycle tracks to facilitate pedestrian and non-motorised transport. If implemented, the project is expected to strengthen road connectivity between Vijayawada and Amaravati and add another major infrastructure landmark across the Krishna River.
