Allu Arjun, who achieved pan-India stardom with the Pushpa franchise, recently appeared on the cover of Forbes magazine. In an interview with the publication, the actor spoke about Pushpa, the changing expectations of audiences and the pressure that comes with being a leading star. He later shared some highlights from the interview on Instagram, drawing particular attention to his comments about his role in Pushpa.
Speaking about the sequence in which he dressed as a woman and wore a saree, Allu Arjun said that portraying a woman in Pushpa was the most “alpha” thing he had done in his life. He also described pressure as a rare privilege that only a few people in the country get to experience. According to the actor, audiences are increasingly rejecting average content, while a genuinely great film can take care of its box-office performance. He added that the success of Pushpa continues to inspire him to take Indian cinema to a higher level on the global stage.
