
Minister Seethakka extended a formal invitation to President Droupadi Murmu to attend the upcoming Sammakka–Saralamma Maha Jatara, scheduled to be held in January. Known as the largest tribal festival in the world, the Maha Jatara holds immense cultural and spiritual significance for tribal communities across the country.
Seethakka met the President at the Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bollaram and personally handed over the invitation on behalf of the Telangana Government and the Adivasi community. During their interaction, Seethakka highlighted the deep cultural connection between the tribal heritage of Telangana and the origins of President Murmu from Odisha, as well as Tripura Governor Jishnu Dev Varma’s tribal roots.
The minister stated that the presence of the President at the festival would serve as a powerful source of encouragement for tribal communities attending the Maha Jatara.
Along with the invitation, Seethakka submitted several proposals to Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, requesting special funds for development works in Mulugu district, which has a predominant tribal population. The proposals include:
₹30 crore for Malluru Temple development
₹50 crore for Bogatha Waterfalls enhancement
₹50 crore for Jampanna Vagu development
She emphasized that eco-friendly tourism initiatives are crucial for the sustainable growth of the region.
