BJP Malkajgiri MP Etela Rajender launched a sharp attack on the Telangana government during the party’s protest at Indira Park in Hyderabad over the Section 22-A prohibited land list. Rajender alleged that the inclusion of farmers’ lands, houses and properties in the prohibited list was causing severe hardship to poor and middle-class families. He also criticised the government over alleged demolition drives in areas including Quthbullapur and other parts of Hyderabad, asserting that the BJP would continue its fight until affected people received relief.
Rajender demanded that lands and houses belonging to poor people and farmers be removed from the Section 22-A prohibited list. He warned officials against blindly implementing government orders if they result in injustice to the public and said the BJP would pursue legal action where necessary. He also made several allegations against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy over the land issue. Rajender said the BJP would intensify its agitation until the concerns of 22-A victims were addressed and claimed that the party would emerge as the alternative political force in Telangana.
