

India’s star men’s doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty stormed into the China Masters final after defeating Malaysia’s Nur Mohd Azriyn and Tan Wee Kiong 21-16, 18-21, 21-11 at the Shenzhen Arena on Saturday. The victory marks the ‘Smash Bros’ third China Masters final appearance in four years.
Satwik and Chirag made a slow start, trailing 0-5 in the opening game, but quickly regained their rhythm by scoring seven successive points to take a 7-5 lead. They held their advantage to win the first game 21-16. The Malaysian pair fought back to take the second game 21-18 and force a decider. However, the Indians dominated the final game, winning 21-11 despite their opponents saving two match points. The 66-minute victory secured their place in the title clash.
