PCB Takes Strict Action Against Andhra Paper Mill

The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) has taken stringent action against Andhra Paper’s Rajahmundry unit, imposing a hefty fine of ₹21.01 crore. The action follows repeated violations of environmental regulations and the company’s failure to rectify the shortcomings despite directions from the authorities.

The penalty has been imposed over allegations of waste being discharged in the vicinity of the Godavari River. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan had recently warned that strict action would be taken against Andhra Paper for violating environmental norms. Andhra Paper’s official website lists its Rajahmundry unit in Sri Ram Nagar.
