Congress MP Mallu Ravi has responded to the removal of Konda Surekha from the state Cabinet. On Saturday, he toured the Kollapur constituency along with Ministers Seethakka and Jupally Krishna Rao and participated in the foundation-laying ceremonies for several development works. He addressed a public meeting held in Kollapur during the visit.
Mallu Ravi said democratic action was taken against Konda Surekha and Chinna Reddy to prevent their public comments in the media from affecting the Congress party’s prospects in the upcoming elections. Responding to criticism from BRS leaders over action against a BC woman, he alleged that women were not given ministerial positions during the BRS regime. He also criticised the BRS over the removal of Dalit leader Rajaiah as Deputy Chief Minister.
