Despite facing political repercussions over the conflict, US President Donald Trump appears unwilling to back down from military action against Iran. Amid the escalating tensions, Tehran has reportedly sent a fresh nuclear proposal to Washington, laying down seven conditions for continuing peace negotiations. Iran has made it clear that the United States must accept these demands before nuclear talks can resume. The conditions were reportedly conveyed to Washington through Qatar’s mediation.
Although Iran has not officially released the list of demands, international media reports suggest that they include lifting the US naval blockade on Iranian ports and removing economic sanctions, releasing frozen Iranian assets, and providing compensation for damages caused by the war. Iran has also reportedly demanded an end to conflicts in other regions, including Lebanon, and a halt to attacks on its territory. Meanwhile, the US wants Iran to completely give up its highly enriched uranium stockpile. Tehran, however, has reportedly offered to neutralise the material inside Iran under the supervision of international inspectors, while refusing to transfer it out of the country.
