Residents of several suburban colonies in Tanuku, West Godavari district, continue to struggle with stagnant floodwater even three days after the rains subsided. The town received unusually heavy rainfall of around 15–20 centimetres over two days, leaving more than half of its roads submerged. Several residential areas and streets remain waterlogged, causing inconvenience to commuters and local residents.
The situation has worsened due to overflowing drainage systems, which have prevented rainwater from flowing out of the affected areas. With no proper outlet for the accumulated water, several roads and low-lying colonies continue to remain flooded. Officials estimate that it could take another two to three days for the floodwater to completely recede.
