Owning a house remains one of the biggest dreams for middle-class and lower-middle-class families, yet many struggle due to limited financial resources. To address this, the Central Government introduced the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), a scheme that provides financial support for constructing homes. Many eligible beneficiaries, especially in rural areas, are still unaware of this benefit. In this context, Undi MLA and Deputy Speaker of Andhra Pradesh, Raghu Rama Krishna Raju, released a video message explaining the scheme’s key provisions and encouraging landowners to make use of it.
In his message, he stated that eligible individuals who want to build a house on their own land or on government-allocated land can receive ₹2.5 lakh as financial assistance under PMAY, jointly funded by the Centre and State. He urged people to register their details at the Village or Municipal Ward Secretariats before November 30, aligning with the state government’s vision of ensuring every citizen has a home. His effort to raise awareness has been appreciated, as such initiatives from public representatives can significantly improve outreach and help more families benefit from government schemes.
