Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has expressed strong displeasure over the alleged destruction of a bitumen road connecting Ananthasamudram village to Papakkagaripalle in Pullampeta mandal of Tirupati district. Taking serious note of the incident, he held a review meeting with senior engineering officials from the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development departments. He directed officials to take strict legal action against YSRCP leader Subba Reddy, who has been accused of damaging public property. Officials reportedly informed him that Subba Reddy and Venkata Subba Reddy had allegedly used a tractor to plough up around 100 metres of the road, which was constructed at a cost of Rs. 4.75 crore under the Palle Panduga programme a week earlier. An FIR has been registered based on information provided by villagers.
Pawan Kalyan said damaging a road built with public funds for the convenience of local residents was an unacceptable offence. He instructed officials to register cases under applicable non-bailable provisions against those responsible. Describing the destruction of a publicly funded road as a reprehensible act, he stressed that not only those directly involved but also those who allegedly encouraged or supported the act should be identified and brought before the law. He also called for strict enforcement of measures to protect government property and ensure accountability for damage to public infrastructure.
