A developing weather system over the Bay of Bengal is expected to bring heavy to very heavy rainfall to several parts of Telangana from October 28. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of intense rainfall in multiple districts as the system approaches the Andhra Pradesh coast. According to the latest available reports, an orange alert has been issued for Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Hanamkonda, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Suryapet districts, where heavy to very heavy rain is likely at isolated places. A yellow alert has been issued for several other districts, including Siddipet, where isolated heavy showers are possible.
The weather system is expected to cross the Andhra Pradesh coast around October 27, with its impact likely to be felt across Telangana mainly from October 28. Rainfall may continue in some areas on October 29, while the precise track and intensity of the system will become clearer as it develops. Residents are advised to follow official weather bulletins, remain cautious in low-lying areas and avoid crossing flooded roads or streams. District-wise alerts may be updated as the weather system evolves.
