Heavy rainfall across several districts of Tamil Nadu has inundated low-lying areas and disrupted normal life. Landslides have been reported at around 10 locations along the Mettupalayam–Ooty route, severely affecting traffic. More than 150 students from Kerealam were stranded in the affected area but were rescued after police personnel and emergency response teams reached the scene. The repeated landslides have made travel along the route difficult, with movement of vehicles facing significant disruption.
In another incident, a tree and large amounts of mud and debris fell onto a government bus near Burliar. Meanwhile, continuous rainfall damaged roads in Adakkam village in Dindigul district, bringing traffic to a standstill. The heavy downpour has raised concerns over road safety, particularly in hilly and low-lying areas. Rescue personnel and local authorities have been responding to the incidents, while commuters continue to face difficulties due to damaged roads and landslide debris.
