The Telangana government has taken a key decision to prepare for the potential impact of El Nino by forming a Cabinet sub-committee. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka will chair the committee, while Minister Seethakka has been appointed as a member. The panel will focus on assessing potential challenges arising from El Nino and identifying precautionary measures to address them in advance.
The government is particularly focused on preventing drinking water shortages in rural areas. Measures will be taken to ensure an uninterrupted water supply and address emerging problems promptly. Minister Seethakka will conduct regular reviews of drinking water availability and supply. Through continuous monitoring and advance planning, the government aims to minimise the impact of potential water shortages and ensure that essential drinking water facilities remain accessible to people in villages.
