BRS leader and former minister Harish Rao has strongly criticized the Telangana government over its cabinet decisions regarding agricultural procurement. He alleged that the government’s “digital cabinet” move and restrictions on paddy procurement amount to a betrayal of farmers, accusing it of failing to support agriculture and shifting responsibilities to the Centre. He claimed that inconsistent policies are pushing farmers into crisis and weakening the agricultural sector.
He further stated that restrictions on procurement, crop bonus conditions, and water allocation issues are harming farmers across the state. Harish Rao questioned why the government, which once criticized the previous regime for not purchasing crops, is now limiting procurement under central quotas. He also demanded immediate release of pending Rythu Bandhu payments and accused the government of adopting anti-farmer policies, warning of strong opposition if decisions are not reversed.
