The ancestral home of Sri Veera Brahmendra Swamy in Kandimallayapalle, Kadapa district, suffered heavy damage due to Cyclone Montha. The ancient site, revered as Brahmamgari Matam, holds immense spiritual significance and attracts devotees from across the country. Soon after receiving information about the collapse, Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh directed the Kadapa District Collector to take urgent measures for restoration. His quick response and concern for preserving the heritage site were widely appreciated by devotees. The devotees, however, expressed disappointment that officials had ignored early signs of deterioration and failed to maintain the premises properly. They urged the government to ensure that the Matam is restored to its original glory and provided with basic facilities.
Sri Potluri Veera Brahmendra Swamy, a 17th-century saint and philosopher, is known for his prophetic writings in Kalagnanam. Many of his followers believe that several of his predictions have already come true. Revered as Brahmam Garu and often referred to as the “Nostradamus of India,” his legacy continues to inspire millions. Recognising this cultural and spiritual importance, Lokesh has instructed officials to begin conservation work immediately.
