Vijaya Sai Reddy Launches Scathing Attack on Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy

Vijaya Sai Reddy’s allegations: Former YSRCP leader and MP Vijaya Sai Reddy has launched a strong attack on party state coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, alleging that he has been working against party president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. In an open letter issued on Saturday, Vijaya Sai Reddy rejected allegations that he was a “betrayal” within the party and questioned why he would have remained with Jagan through legal and political challenges if he had intended to betray him. He alleged that Sajjala, in an attempt to gain Jagan’s confidence, projected himself as an atheist and communist and gradually strengthened his influence within the party. Vijaya Sai Reddy also claimed that senior leaders and elected representatives were increasingly kept away from Jagan.

Allegations of humiliation: Vijaya Sai Reddy further alleged that his position within the party was systematically weakened from 2020 onwards and that he faced repeated humiliation despite having worked closely with the Y.S. family for decades. He claimed that he was removed from several organisational responsibilities and alleged that there were as many as 74 instances in which his self-respect was hurt. He also questioned whether senior leaders and party workers should continue working under Sajjala. Vijaya Sai Reddy said he relinquished his Rajya Sabha term and resigned from the YSRCP after the 2024 elections because he could not compromise on his self-respect. He maintained that he had not betrayed Jagan and announced that he would enter electoral politics independently by launching a new political party. He added that he would reveal more details through the media at an appropriate time.
